Tantallon Castle was
built in the 1350s by the Douglas family, this side of the family were
known as the Red Douglas's. There namesake in the Galloway region were
known as the Black Douglas's. The Castle lived a full and exciting life
until destroyed by Oliver Cromwell's forces in 1651.
