It is unusual for Scottish History Online to promote any commercial organisation in such a way as this but the Battle of Culloden (1746) and the aftermath by Peter Watkins is exceptional!!

Filmed in a documentary style manner and broadcast by the BBC in December 1964 SHO feel, it portrays a fairly accurate account of the conflict. The narration in the way of a news report by a television crew, gives an added feel and good historical account of the battle and the following genocide committed in the Highlands by British government troops.
